by dougschmeltzerNorth Winds started out as a passion and a dream. The passion was to make a quality spirit in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and the dream was to make it a product that one could be proud of.
In 2018, we started our journey with North Winds Distillery. Knowing this was no easy task, founder Chad Kay, worked towards his dream and would not take no for an answer. Through hurdle after hurdle and even a pandemic, we are proud and honored to be here today.
The first bottles we ever produced was during the summer of 2022, our next step was introducing our rum to the public. During the fall of 2022 Chad sought after his self-distribution licenses. Shortly after we collaborated with Super One in Iron Mountain and was able to sell our first bottles of Silver Rum.
To date, North Winds goal is to sell throughout the Upper Peninsula and Wisconsin. Our Dream doesn’t stop here. Our next steps will be to expand into other items such as Spiced, and aged rums, Whiskey, Bourbon, and even some Liquors. Thank you for supporting our passion and helping us make our dream come true.
